Wheat exports from Kazakhstan gained 25% in MY 2017/18


Kazakh exporters shipped abroad 4.7 MMT of wheat during the first nine months of MY 2017/18 (September - May), or 53% more than at the same time last season and already 25% more than exported in the whole of MY 2016/17, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Kazakhstan exported 442.9 KMT of wheat in May 2017/18. This is 7% more than in the previous month and 25% more than in May 2017.

In the period under review, the greatest rise was seen in deliveries to Turkey: 279.8 KMT compared to 70 KMT in the whole of MY 2016/17. Azerbaijan also boosted purchases from Kazakhstan, to 134 KMT in September - May 2017/18 against 43.4 KMT in the whole of MY 2016/17.

In addition, the EU imported 366.5 KMT of wheat in September-April that is already up 31% from the whole of MY 2016/17.
