Winter rape emerged on more than 90% of area in Ukraine


The period of November 11-20 featured alternating air temperatures. Its beginning was warm with average daily temperatures 1-3°C above normal but it became cooler then and winter weather set in from November 13, when the average daily air temperature lowered to freezing values, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Precipitation in the form of rain, sleet, and snow was registered all over Ukraine. Its rates ranged from 21 - 65 mm. Snow cover was 1-9 cm high in the south, 4-13 cm in the west, and 7-23 cm in the north.

844 Th ha was planted for the 2017 harvest, including over 85% within the best time limits. As of November 17, seedlings were seen on 793 Th ha (90.7%).
