IFC will allocate $5 Ml to Mriya Agro Holding to boost performance of sugar refineries

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) will allocate a five-year $5 Ml loan to Mriya Agro Holding within the framework of Cleaner Production Loan Facility. A corresponding project has been approved by the Corporation’s board of directors, said Rufat Alimardanov, IFC country manager for Ukraine and Belarus. In addition, the Corporation told the agency that necessary documents were signed on February 6, 2012.

It is planned to spend the money on the execution of recommendations given by IFC experts for boosting performance of 4 out of the agroholding’s six sugar refineries in Ternopil region, for cutting their electricity, water consumption and carbonic gas emission. The total project cost amounts to $12.5 Ml. Reportedly, Mriya Agro Holding already cooperates with the IFC. In 2011, the agro holding raised $60 Ml from the Corporation for corporate development.
