Microsoft sets Nov. 1 cutoff time for stopping old Outlook customers from 365 administrations

Microsoft has reminded business clients utilizing more established variants of Outlook that they have only two months to update before they’re cut off from the organization’s Microsoft 365 and Office 365 administrations.

“After November 1, 2021, just Outlook 2013 Service Pack 1 (with most recent fixes) and later will actually want to associate with Microsoft 365 administrations,” the firm said in an unsigned Aug. 27 post to an organization blog.

Last year, Microsoft dropped support for more established variants of Office associating with its online administrations, like Exchange Online, as of Oct. 13, 2020. Influenced versions of Office included Office 2007, which was at that point out of all help; Office 2010, which was to leave support on that equivalent Oct. 13 date; and Office 2013, which was to get support until April 2023. The help on-administrations closure had been underway since 2017.

At that point, Microsoft had been shockingly benevolent, saying that while backing would formally end, that didn’t really mean the finish of availability. “We will not take any dynamic means to obstruct different forms of the Office customer, for example, Office 2013, from associating with Office 365 administrations, however these more established customers might experience execution or dependability issues after some time,” the designer said then, at that point.

That is the thing that’s distinctive at this point. The Nov. 1 cutoff time truly will cut more established Outlook customers from Microsoft’s administrations. Microsoft clarified that the more established Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 customers will be contrary with two impending changes to administrations, including a finish to help for Basic Authentication — basically, the long-standard username + secret word mix — that was deferred in February 2021.

Microsoft didn’t say when it would drop Basic Auth support, nonetheless.

For the people who haven’t yet abstained from the old Outlook customers, Microsoft suggested — as it has unquestionably — that they change to the membership model of Office 365 or Microsoft 365, which gives consistently modern customer programming.
